Pasola is a traditional war tradition that is maintained to this day where two groups of horsemen face each other, chasing each other while throwing a javelin (a kind of spear) at the opponent.

This tradition is carried out once a year, precisely at the beginning of the local planting season, which is based on calculating the dark and light moons and seeing other natural signs.

This tradition is very unique because it has a game concept but is also dangerous, where a thrown spear can hit both the rider and the horse itself. No doubt, before doing Pasola, local people are required to hold a local religious ritual ceremony which they call Pajura and Nyale and several other taboos.

From this tradition, Pasola teaches us that nature and humans must always be beneficial to others, by maintaining and preserving spiritual values in order to bring blessings to others.
